Trippin’ On Two Wheels: Adventures In Quebec

Traveling again with the usual suspects, Dennis and Sam Gage, as we roamed around Quebec filming another episode of our Speed Channel TV series “Trippin on Two Wheels,” gave us the chance to explore one of the most fascinating places we had been in the series. Riding three identical Buell Ulysses motorcycles also gave us a chance to sample one of the most eclectic motorcycles ever produced. Part dirt bike, part sport bike, with some distinct adventure travel genes infused, the big paint shaker V-twin was icing on the character cake of this totally eccentric motorcycle.

Solo Moto- Facing Down the Giants

Then he heard them, otherworldly giants in the distance screaming their haunting battle cry, filling the silent night air with their spine-chilling roar. Behind the concrete blocks, the fear swept over him as he felt these murderous creatures growing closer, hidden for now by the dark. I had come face to face with my fear the previous year I thought so surely, I was beyond that now?

Warm sun, even warmer people, strong coffee and a slow, deliberate dinner of multiple mouth watering courses calls to us like the Sirens of Anthemoessa as Jason and his Argonauts sailed by. But as soon as my Moto Guzzi Griso jumps to life the following morning, with the rocking cadence so familiar to long time aficionados of this historic brand, the call of the road, like Orpheus’ song, takes over. Diving into the sea of madness that doubles for city driving in Sicily, a quick check in my mirror shows Dennis on his Breva 1100 and Sam on a 750 Nevada in tight formation, so I gun the big twin for Taormina…
