Recently at Pittsburgh International Raceway, Yamaha Racing rider Jake Gagne claimed his third consecutive MotoAmerica title in spectacular fashion, the champ winning all three Superbike races across the weekend, a “threepeat to solidify his threepeat.” This, with two more race rounds and four Superbike races left on the schedule. Race days are exciting for everyone, but a MotoGP race is palpable! The sound waves from the paddock are the first thing to hit you. Mechanics revving the engines to listen for the crispness of their tuning and the buzz of riders, teams, and fans gathering before the race is electric. Circuit of the Americas (COTA) did not fail to disappoint all who gathered for this event April 8-10th, 2022. Upon arrival to the MotoAmerica paddock early Friday morning, everything was ready to go, and the teams were already into their race routines. Jake Gagne was relaxed and obliging when asked if he could spare some time to chat with Road Dirt. “Of course, anytime!” was his reply. Coming To America

There are many signs indicating the health of a national racing series, and two if which are (1) its top riders are invited to race in international series, and (2) international riders want to come race in that country’s national series. MotoAmerica has made incredible strides in both of these, with the likes of Garrett Gerloff, Cameron Beaubier, Sean Dylan Kelly, among others making the leap to the world stage in World SBK and MotoGP, and Toni Elias, Loris Baz, and now Danilo Petrucci joining the MotoAmerica paddock. American motorcycle road racing is alive and well again.

Gagne Clinches 2021 MotoAmerica Superbike Title

Jake Gagne wrapped up the 2021 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship across a record-setting weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park, the Californian winning his 16th race of the season to match the record held jointly by Josh Hayes and Cameron Beaubier for Superbike wins in a single season, while also tying three-time 500cc World Champion Wayne Rainey’s mark for career AMA Superbike victories.
