We put the Sedici Marco Mesh riding jacket and pants to the test up in the Pacific Northwest.
European motorcycle apparel company Sedici has long been regarded for high quality riding products, specializing in street and track performance gear. They have partnered with Cycle Gear to carry their brand to American riders for a number of years, and since I’ve consistently had great experiences with the good folks at CG, I naturally sought them out when contemplating a new set of all-purpose, all-weather riding gear.
My local Cycle Gear store, located in Lawrenceville, Georgia, hooked me up with a jacket and pant set of Sedici’s Marco Mesh gear, part of their ADV Series of apparel. After taking me through the features, I was sold, and excitedly took the set home with me. With a major road trip coming up over in the Pacific Northwest with fellow Road Dirt writer Ted Edwards, I knew this gear would be put to the test of extremes in the “Upper Left”.
Here’s our opening observations about the fit, features, and value of the Sedici Marco Mesh riding gear, from Cycle Gear-
I knew the Sedici Marco gear had highly touted features, from zip-out liners, waterproofing inside and out, reinforced 450D fabric, and CE Level 2 rated armor. But I wanted to know if it would be up to the task of keeping me dry and comfortable in the potentially extreme conditions of the PNW- Washington, Idaho, and Oregon.
The gear was more prepared than I was, it would turn out. More on that soon with our accompanying photo essay by Ted, and the full story with videos by me. Let’s just say man and material got thoroughly stretched as far as summer swings in temperature, topography, and weather conditions. Rain, sleet, hail, snow, as well as days of abundant sunshine. Elevations from near sea level to close to 10,000 feet. Temperatures ranging from 36 to 91 degrees Fahrenheit. Perfectly paved roads to pot-holes, gravel, fine dirt, and standing water. Apparel and wearer endured it all, without a hitch. Proud of myself, and proud of this gear-
I never got wet, never got too cold, never got too hot. This gear served me well. I believe it will for you too. Special thanks to Cycle Gear of Lawrenceville, Georgia for hooking me up with the perfect, all-weather gear for an extreme road trip.
