Neale Bayly Rides: Cheap Fun On Two Wheels

That little Yamaha TT-R125L proved to be absolutely bullet proof, and apart from oil changes, air filter cleaning, chain lubing and adjusting, the only time it needed any wrenches turned was when something got too bent to ride. My son Luke had a unique ability to provide not only the most spectacular laps, but also more bent parts than the rest of us put together. So it was no surprise that the TT-R ended up on the ground in a pile of dust and limbs more times than any of us could remember while thankfully always surviving to ride another day.

Yamaha MT-09 Ride & Review

The MT-09 has been a staple in Yamaha’s “Hyper Naked” sportbike lineup for ten years, alongside their MT-07 twin, both best sellers in the American market. We’ve had the opportunity to sample the torquey triple mill in their “Sport Heritage” XSR900 a couple of years ago, and were so impressed with the Tracer 9 GT+ that it won our 2023 Bike of the Year. So when invited out to sample the powerplant in their naked sportbike iteration, I jumped at the chance.

For The Love Of Heat

New Year’s morning saw me up fairly early, gearing up to go on an annual New Year’s Day ride with a local CMA chapter. Temperature was hovering around 42°, and as I was pulling on layer upon layer of warm clothes, I questioned myself, “What the heck am I doing? I’ve got to be out of my mind.” To those of you in colder climates, I’m sure that’s not a big deal. Project Bike Build: Yamaha YZF-R6

Those of you who have followed me for a while now know that racing is more than just a hobby to me. Racing is my passion and part of my DNA. Ever since I began riding motorcycles when I was 16, I always wanted to race. My lifelong dream has been to race in the top professional series in the United States. I have worked hard and taken all of the steps to make that dream a reality. From my race license class in 2014 starting out on a 2009 Ninja 250, moving up to a first and then second gen SV650 and finally transitioning to a 2017 Yamaha YZF-R6 in 2023, motorcycle racing has been my drive and joy.

Holiday Gifts: LEGO Yamaha MT-10 SP

Road Dirt editor Rob Brooks recently scored an amazing gift from Yamaha Motors USA in the form of a LEGO Technic 42159 Yamaha MT-10 SP motorcycle, and was generous in offering for my grandson Parker and I to build it. Rob did have one request attached to the gift – “Please do a Road Dirt review of the build to share with our YouTube audience”. We happily agreed and on a rainy Saturday in mid September prior to our beloved Georgia “Bulldawgs” football game, my buddy 8-YO Parker Burrell and I began the build.
