New Royal Enfield 650 Coming to North America

EICMA (Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori), or the Milan Motorcycle Shows is an annual trade show in Milan, Italy featuring brands from around the world debuting their next model year motorcycles. The six day event heralds the end of one riding season while showcasing what’s coming in the next. From what we gather there weren’t a great many head-turning reveals, but a few notable exceptions caught our eyes, like the new Suzuki powerplant and bikes we discussed last week. Honda’s Hooligan- 2022 Honda CB1000R

We were granted the opportunity to sample a CB1000R Black Edition for a little over a month, and what struck me first was the attention to detail in this all-blacked out motorbike. No substantial chrome or brushed aluminum anywhere, from the tank and fenders, to the forks, wheels, radiator and airbox covers, swingarm, headers and pipes, you name it. Black on black. To top it off, Honda tacked on very nice machined bits all around, on the handlebar clamp, swingarm pivots, rear hub, wheel spokes, footpeg mounts and engine covers. This bike is an attention-getter, everywhere we’ve ridden and parked it.

Indian Motorcycle’s FTR “Championship Edition”

The FTR750 has dominated the motorcycle racing series, reestablished the fabled “Indian Wrecking Crew” of yesteryear, and has birthed a street-going version in Indian’s FTR 1200, itself a popular seller. With five consecutive AFT championships under their belt, the American motorcycle company rolled out a special commemorative model of the FTR, dubbing it the “Championship Edition”.

Indian Releases a Rogue

We at Road Dirt have always been fans of Indian Motorcycle’s Scout line since they re-introduced it a few years back. Long, low and lean, we were impressed from our first sampling of one when Placa throttled a Scout Bobber around Los Angeles for a month. Approachable and affordable for a wide range of motorcycle riders, the Indian Scout line has become among the brand’s most popular sellers in recent years. My friend Mike, a veteran motorcycle rider and retired motor police officer, traded his Harley tourer for a Scout and rode it around the south central Texas hill country last fall.
