DGR 2022 Breaks Records

We’ve long held a special place in our hearts for the annual Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. This worldwide benefit ride for men’s prostate cancer and mental health strikes close to home for several of us here at Road Dirt who have dealt with cancer and/or various forms of depression, either personally or with a loved one. So after two years of social distancing and solo riding, we were thrilled to see the event returning to its original form of riders across globe gathering together to ride for the cause in their “dapper best” astride vintage, classic and modern classic motorcycles.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride Celebrates 10 Years

The worldwide Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is marking its 10th birthday in grand fashion this year, in spite of a continued international pandemic. As countries around the globe try to return to some semblance of normal while still fighting COVID, the DGR plans to renew their global campaign to bring “dapper riders” together to enjoy a day ride together and raise funds and awareness for men’s cancer and mental health causes, via the Movember Foundation.

The DGR Shifts Gears In 2021

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, the annual world wide motorcycle event that attracts hundreds of thousands of riders every year, made a major announcement regarding their 10-year anniversary in 2021. The ride, which raises awareness and funds for prostate cancer and men’s mental health, was first launched in 2012, and has been grown into a world motorcycle ride encompassing every continent on the planet with the exception of Antarctica. Since it’s inception in Sydney, Australia, the ride had always been held on the last Sunday in September, officially going “kick stands up” at 10:00 AM in Sydney, then across the globe as rides roll out when their time zones hit that mark. The ride has spread to include over 316,000 riders, in 104 countries, and has raised nearly $25 million in USD in its first nine years.
