Helmet Review: HJC i31 Tevis

The new version is called the HJC i31 Tevis. I’ve always had a solid color helmet rather than one with wildly colored graphics, but this time I decided to go with some colors, which match those of my newly repainted Triumph America. I loved the way it looked, but the trouble began with the first time I put it on. Or more accurately, the first time I attempted to put it on.

In the modern era, protective helmets made their appearances outside of war in the fields of firefighting, horseback riding, skiing, and American football, to name a few. However, it wasn’t until 1953 that the first motorcycle helmet (made from rubber and cork) was patented for commercial sale.

But if life and cognizance is critical to you, as it is to me, a quality motorcycle helmet is a must. The problem is, superior protection comes at a superior price, a concern in these uncertain economic times that might be difficult for some. So where can you find quality at an affordable price point? I found the HJC i10 Robust line of motorbike helmets, and I think they might fit the bill, literally.
