Keanu’s Dream: Crafting the Ultimate Riding Experience

ARCH Motorcycles, a name that resonates with innovation, craftsmanship, and luxury in the world of custom motorcycles, is a brand built on a dream- a dream of creating motorcycles that are not just rolling machines, but works of art that deliver an unparalleled riding experience. Founded by famed actor and motorcycle enthusiast Keanu Reeves with renowned custom motorcycle designer Gard Hollinger, ARCH Motorcycles represents the pursuit of passion, performance, and precision engineering. The company’s vision is to redefine the limits of motorcycle design, marrying advanced technology with timeless craftsmanship, all while crafting bikes that embody the personal expression of each rider who owns one.

A Shared Passion for Motorcycles

Keanu Reeves’ journey into the world of custom motorcycles is well-known. Long before ARCH Motorcycles became a reality, Reeves was already an avid and nearly lifelong motorcyclist. His passion for riding began when he was just a teenager and, over the years, grew into a deep respect for the art of motorcycle design. “I absolutely love riding motorcycles,” Reeves has quipped, “I love how they look, how they smell, how they feel. When I don’t ride, I go through withdrawal.” Reeves had a vision of creating a motorcycle that reflected his own ideals: a bike that was powerful, beautiful, and an extension of the rider’s spirit. To bring this vision to life, he sought out Gard Hollinger, a master builder with a reputation for creating some of the most distinctive custom bikes in the industry.

The duo first connected when Hollinger was working on a custom bike for Reeves. The project sparked an instant camaraderie, and the idea of ARCH Motorcycles was soon birthed. In 2011 they founded the brand, with the aim of producing motorcycles that would push the boundaries of performance, luxury, and aesthetics. Together, they sought to create a motorcycle company that would take the best of modern engineering and blend it with a handcrafted, bespoke approach to design. “Definitely I’m involved with the dream of the company,” Reeves states, “the ambition of the company,… who are we, what are we presenting, I kind of work with that.” The friends are a “dynamic duo” of passion, vision and creativity for motorcycle design and development.

The Vision of Arch Motorcycles: Beyond the Ride

At its core, the vision of ARCH Motorcycles is about more than just building fast, high-performance machines. It’s about creating a unique and personal riding experience that speaks to the soul of each individual rider. For both Reeves and Hollinger, motorcycles are a form of self-expression, an embodiment of the freedom and thrill that comes with riding the open road. With ARCH, they seek to build bikes that are as much about the experience of riding as they are about the feeling of ownership and pride that comes with owning a truly unique and rare machine, hand crafted to the rider’s dream.

ARCH Motorcycles is not about mass production. Every bike is meticulously crafted with the finest materials and attention to detail. From the design to the final assembly, each motorcycle is a reflection of the brand’s commitment to pursuing perfection. The bikes are designed to offer more than just performance on the road; they are crafted to be an extension of the rider, a machine that feels intuitive and connected to the rider’s every movement. This vision is realized through a combination of cutting-edge technology and hands-on craftsmanship, ensuring that every ARCH motorcycle is both a technical marvel and a work of art.

The Bikes: Where Art Meets Engineering

At ARCH Motorcycles, each model is designed to be distinctive, and each custom-built machine is an expression of the rider’s desires and specifications. The company’s flagship bike, the ARCH KRGT-1, is a prime example of their vision in action. A powerful 2032cc (124ci) V-twin cruiser that makes 115.3 ft. lbs. of torque, the KRGT-1 combines high performance with unparalleled aesthetics. With its sleek, aggressive lines, custom-built chassis, and bespoke touches, the KRGT-1 is more than just a motorcycle; it’s a statement. It’s a bike designed to turn heads while delivering a thrilling and unforgettable ride.

The KRGT-1 features a lightweight aluminum frame, carbon fiber accents, and a performance-oriented suspension system, ensuring that the bike is both agile and stable, whether cruising on the highway or carving up winding roads. The design is minimalist yet bold, with a focus on clean lines and attention to detail. Every element of the bike is carefully considered, from the unique forged wheels to the hand-stitched leather seat, ensuring that it delivers not just a ride, but an experience.

Beyond the KRGT-1, ARCH Motorcycles has continued to push the envelope with its future designs, such as the 1S we featured a couple of years ago, and the extremely limited edition Method143 (only building 23 of them). Each of their current models (with more coming) maintain the brand’s core philosophy of exclusivity and craftsmanship. The company prides itself on creating bikes that are fully customizable, allowing riders to select the specific components and finishes that best suit their personality and riding style.

The Future of ARCH Motorcycles: Innovation and Legacy

Looking ahead, the vision for ARCH Motorcycles is one of continued innovation and evolution. The brand remains committed to pushing the boundaries of motorcycle design and performance while maintaining the same meticulous attention to detail and bespoke craftsmanship that defines its models. As the motorcycle industry continues to evolve, ARCH is exploring new technologies and materials to keep its bikes at the forefront of performance and luxury. This includes exploring electric motorcycles and integrating cutting-edge digital features, without compromising the tactile, analog connection that riders cherish.

One of the hallmarks of ARCH Motorcycles is its dedication to quality over quantity. With a focus on limited production and exclusivity, ARCH bikes are often seen as a symbol of both status and a commitment to the art of motorcycle riding. The brand’s vision is not just to build motorcycles, but to create a community of like-minded enthusiasts who share a passion for performance, beauty, and craftsmanship. “For me, its the visceral quality of it,” Reeves contends, “The vibration, the wind, the sound,… its just really a great place to think, to feel, to get away.”  It is that essence both he and Gard endeavor to capture in each ARCH bike they build.

For Keanu Reeves and Gard Hollinger, the dream of ARCH Motorcycles is deeply personal. It’s a vision that merges their shared love for motorcycles with their commitment to creating something that is both functional and beautiful. By staying true to these ideals, ARCH Motorcycles continues to carve out a unique space in the world of high-performance custom motorcycles, one that speaks to riders who want more than just a bike- they want a personalized work of art, a reflection of their own journey, and a testament to the freedom of the open road.

In the end, ARCH Motorcycles is not just about trying to engineer the perfect motorcycle; it’s about building an experience that lasts a lifetime. “I’ve had some of the best times of my life on a motorcycle,” Keanu reflects. His pursuit of motorcycle perfection includes inviting others to join him on the journey.

Now make one that is affordable.

I think their goal is to build one-off, custom-designed and built bikes for customers, who participate in the design of their bike from the beginning. So assembly-line bikes at more affordable price points isn’t their business model.
