Bikes That Catch Our Eye for 2026
by Road Dirt Crew | Jan 29, 2026 | Bikes & Gear, Legendary Bikes | 0 |
Every January, the motorcycle brands start debuting their new year models, with previews and “sneak peeks“ for the motorcycle media. Year after year, it kind of gets monotonous and boring- different colors, new paint schemes and patterns, some new tech in the electronics package, maybe a little tweak in the brakes, suspension or powerplant, and/or more farkles in the OEM accessory parts bin. So many of the motorcycle media outlets feel the need to kiss up to the brands, running glowing previews of every detail of a “new” bike, even if the specs were the same as last year, just wearing a new colorway.
Same pablum and blather, different year…

Descending off the high plains of panhandle Texas and into the desert and Mesa’s of New Mexico, the setting sun was splashing a kaleidoscope of color across the sky. Behind us, as darkness crapped over the canopy above, a full moon was rising behind our right shoulders. Mike was riding lead, his silhouette framed by the sinking sun, and I fell into a completely calm state, almost like a trance, and time seemed to stand still.

When the news broke that Polaris Industries would be selling a majority stake in Indian Motorcycle to private-equity firm Carolwood LP, the sound that followed wasn’t just the click of a press release hitting inboxes. It was a collective double-take across the motorcycle world.
For over a decade, Polaris has been the guiding hand behind Indian’s comeback story — resurrecting the century-old American brand from dormancy and turning it into Harley-Davidson’s most credible rival in modern times. But with this new deal, expected to close in early 2026, Indian Motorcycle is about to chart its own course as a standalone company.
2025 Indian Scout 101 Ride & Review

While I may not have 101, there are plenty of reasons to love the 2025 Indian Scout 101. This new addition to the Scout lineup is a powerful mid-sized cruiser, with a low center of gravity, nimble steering, and an improved suspension system. That list alone makes this one of the best Scouts I’ve ever ridden, but add to that comfortable ergonomics, a user-friendly dash, and eye-catching paintwork, and the 2025 Indian Scout 101 is a cruiser I’d not only recommend, but I’d seriously consider purchasing myself. With that said, as a motorcycle journalist I try to maintain an impartial opinion of the bikes I review, but every so often a motorcycle comes along that really resonates with me. The Scout 101 is one of those motorcycles.

Every new year, we look forward to the press releases of new and/or upgraded motorcycles soon to debut. It’s an annual ritual in our world, and 2025 is no different. We peruse the press docs, dream and scheme about how we might get a ride on the ones we really like, and start making plans. Most of the bikes we dream about we eventually get a chance to sample; others, not so much. But it’s fun to dream, right?
