But the Superbike star for the weekend would have to be Bobby Fong of M4 ECSTAR Suzuki. After snatching the lead in race one on Saturday after Beaubier crashed out, Fong fought off Beaubier’s Attack Yamaha teammate Jake Gagne for the win. Then the Suzuki rider claimed the 2nd step in race two, and dominated race three after teammate Toni Elias crashed out in front of him, as did Jake Gagne behind him.

As a rule of thumb this past weekend, if you won on Saturday, you won on Sunday at Pittsburgh International Race Complex. That’s how the speed battles played out in multiple classes in MotoAmerica’s 4th round of racing at PittRace. To top it off, Superbike reigning champ and current dominator in the class Cameron Beaubier celebrated the 100th AMA Superbike start of his career, and the 4-time national champion took his 45th career win on Sunday. In masterful fashion.

The “Dog Days of Summer” here in the Deep South can be utterly stifling, with temps in the upper 90s and humidity equally as high. Combine those with harsh sunlight above and cooking tarmac below, and you’ve got difficult conditions to race in, if not outright dangerous. Hydration and shade are a must. And that was exactly what the MotoAmerica contenders dealt with all weekend at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
