EAGLERIDER celebrates the 100th birthday of historic Route 66 with exclusive tour package

Back in 2010, my friend Mike Hinton and I lit out on a 10 day road trip out west. Among the many sites and experiences we took in, we rode a beautiful section of Route 66 through Oklahoma, Texas, and into New Mexico. We took in the Route 66 Museum in Elk City, left our mark at Cadillac Ranch, ate at the famous Big Texan Restaurant in Amarillo, stopped in for some “Ugly Crust Pie” at the Midpoint Café in Adrian, and spent a day roaming Palo Duro Canyon as well as other sites and stops along the route before rolling into Tucumcari, home of the famous and quirky Blue Swallow Motel. I cherish the memories and still hold the keepsakes of those epic days my friend and I shared riding the “Mother Road”.

EAGLERIDER is hosting an epic adventure on the world famous route in this it’s 100th anniversary year, leading a tour from the road’s beginning point in Chicago, all the way across the continent, to the terminus at the Santa Monica Pier. Billed as the “Route 66 Centennial Tour”, EAGLERIDER is inviting only 66 riders worldwide to join them on the 16-day epic journey, riding out of Chicago on June 23rd and arriving in Santa Monica on July 8th.

Coincidentally, the ride and centennial celebration come during our nation’s 250th birthday as well. “66 riders celebrating Route 66’s 100th anniversary as America marks 250 years- you can’t script this,” said Sebastian Schoepe, CEO of EAGLERIDER. “This ride defines what it means to be a true rider: two great American milestones, one legendary road and endless adventure. When the numbers align like this, you don’t question it, you twist the throttle.”

2210 miles of open road, across 8 states, hitting all of the famous stops along the fabled route- Cadillac Ranch, Winslow AZ, Midpoint Cafe, the neon-lit Blue Swallow Motel, Oatman’s Wild West Ghost Town, and so much more- this sounds like the ride of a lifetime. There are small portions of the original route that are not open to riding anymore, but much if not most has been preserved and is pure pleasure and nostalgia to ride.

About mid-ride, June 27-29, there will be a stop in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the city’s AAA Route 66 Road Fest. With classic car shows, live music, plenty of food and memorabilia vendors in Expo Square’s SageNet Arena, the stop promises to be major party. For those who sign up for the EAGLERIDER tour, each rider will receive a custom “Centennial Tour” riding jacket. Group riders also choose from ER’s wide array of bikes, from Harley-Davidson tourers to BMW R1250 or even Yamaha Ténéré 700 adventure bikes.

Of course, in this centennial Route 66 year, as well as our nation’s 250th anniversary, whether solo or with a group, a trip down some or all of Route 66 is a must in 2026. We can’t think of a better road trip than that. Can you?
