One of our own, in the fight of her life.

Donni Reddington is one of us. A passionate, highly skilled motorcycle rider, Donni has collaborated with Road Dirt on several stories over the life of our little publication and community, contributing photography, riding stories, bike/gear reviews, and lots of laughter. We love her, and are thankful to know her.

Donni is now facing the fight of her life. Having battled breast cancer more than once, she’s now dealing with the sobering realization of it’s spread across her body, and we want to be there for her, like she’s been for us here at Road Dirt. Like I said, she’s one of us- at Road Dirt, and in the wider motorcycling community.

Typical Donni Reddington pose.

This picture sums up the Donni Reddington I know- Baja veteran, badass ADV pilot, Skool Of Moto owner and operator, expert photographer and show-off for the camera.  Here we are in the fall of 2021, packing to head into the deep woods of the Pacific Northwest to road and dirt test Harley-Davidson’s new Pan America.

I remember her expert off-road skills, her crude sense of humor and passion for singing 80’s Madonna songs through our helmet communicators, whether I wanted to hear them or not. She sang all day long.  All.  Day.  Long.

These are fond memories of Donni, and if she doesn’t win her battle with cancer they will be just one more “remember when”. Motorcycling needs Donni Reddington, and she needs you and me. Below is the link to her “Go Fund Me” page. If each one of us does a little then together, we can do a lot. I am begging you to contribute. Let’s keep her around so she can keep singing.

*Post Script: Donni passed away yesterday, April 1st, surrounded by family and loved ones. The motorcycling community has lost a beloved, passionate member, and an enthusiastic ambassador. She will be sorely missed, but long remembered and cherished. Goodbye, Donni.

I know my message is well beyond the time Donni passed away, but I still feel she’d appreciate the sentiments I’d like to share about her. I met Donni in 1997 at Beaver Creek when she and I were snowcat operators. Yes! She did that too! We lived in a unique house in Minturn, CO with other volunteers of the USFS’s Holy Cross Wilderness district. She was our hairstylist and entertained us daily. Our housemates skied together almost every chance we could get. I spoke with her in the summer of 2024 when I was visiting another friends in Hot Springs, MT who owned and operated a motorsports store in Breckenridge for years. I was able to speak with Donni and made plans to visit her in Delta in March of 2025, when I always go there to visit other friends. I now know why she didn’t answer my phone call or text while I was there, and regret not being able to see her one last time before she and her smile and laughter filled my being one last time!
