Beaubier Wins Sixth Superbike Title
by Road Dirt Crew | Sep 29, 2025 | Industry & Racing | 0 |
If the 2025 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship could be summed up in just a few words this year, “dramatic and unpredictable” would be a pretty good description. And it certainly held true in the final races at New Jersey Motorsports Park over the weekend. The final race round held three Superbike races, and the three contenders for the title were within a few points of each other going into the weekend. Number 1 plate holder Josh Herrin held third place, still within striking distance of holding his title with 292 season points. 5-time national champion Cameron Beaubier held 306 points, and the surprising class leader entering NJMP was the scrappy outlier Bobby Fong with 314.
With 74 points up for grabs, the 2025 Superbike championship finish was anyone’s guess.

Perhaps you have heard of the Virginia tourism slogan, Virginia is for Lovers®? Our weekend at VIR (Virginia International Raceway) had us fall in love with Virginia! Race weekend at VIR excited riders, fans, and photographers with its natural beauty. The last two days of July in the mid-Atlantic brought stifling heat and high humidity to this beautiful location. However, it didn’t slow down the work that had to be done setting up the course and the paddock. The anticipation of great racing action was in the air! Fans also began to arrive at VIR to spend a fun weekend camping and RVing. Everyone was excited for MotoAmerica’s return after a three-year absence.

In the early hours of Thursday, March 6, 2025, I left home pulling my toy hauler/trailer, headed for Daytona Beach. I had loaded in the trailer my Honda Monkey and CB500X , and my friend David’s Triumph Bonneville 1200. David was pulling his teardrop camper with his Mercedes as we headed on our way to Florida. The weather was good and we made it to the Florida line somewhere around noon.
Daytona, here we come!

Josh Herrin made history on Saturday at Daytona International Speedway when he became the first rider in Daytona 200 history to win “The Great American Motorcycle Race” three times in a row. It was also Herrin’s fourth Daytona 200 victory, putting him one win away from tying the all-time win leaders, Scott Russell and Miguel Duhamel.

The 2024 MotoAmerica motorcycle road racing season ended very differently than it began. Jake Gagne and the Attack Yamaha Racing team were preparing to take a record 4th-in-a-row Superbike championship, Rahal Ducati Moto was predicted to claim the Supersport championship with PJ Jacobsen, Kayla Yaakov and Corey Alexander all contending in the class, early pundits were predicting Kyle Wyman would return the factory Harley-Davidson team to the top rung in the King of the Baggers series, with the other series (Twins Cup, Stock 1000, Super Hooligans, and Junior Cup) all up for grabs.
By season’s end, the landscape looked much different.
