Triumph partners with BDR to officially open the new Montana route
Over the last couple of years we’ve had the opportunity to report on and ride portions of the ever increasing Backcountry Discovery Routes. We’ve ridden a portion of the Utah BDR, sections of the Southeastern route in Georgia, and shared the news of other routes as they were added to the growing national network. These curated on and off-road motorcycling routes take riders through the heart and soul of our great nation, experiencing not only the beauty and grandeur of the landscapes, but the unique history and wonderful people who live in each region.
The newest route has recently been announced in Montana, and Triumph Motorcycles sent us some information on this extraordinary new portion. The motorcycle brand is once again partnering with and helping sponsor the new Montana route (MTBDR), with valuable travel resources that can benefit riders, as well as the rural communities the roads and trails navigate through. As dual sport and adventure riding continues to grow here in the States, the BDR network is growing with it.
Triumph has collaborated with BDR on a new documentary of the Montana route, following the BDR team and special guests as they ride the route, “capturing both the scale of Montana’s landscapes and the collaborative effort required to develop a route of this magnitude. The film also includes the next generation of BDR riders, including the sons of BDR co-founders, reflecting the multi-generational nature of the community and how these routes are often best experienced when shared.”
Triumph sent us some beautiful photos from their time on the route, riding Tiger 900 Rally Pro adventure bikes and all-new TF 450-E enduro motorbikes. We’ve attached the teaser trailer below for your viewing. It’s full of gorgeous footage. The full length documentary will be debuted in Bozeman, Montana on Saturday, Feb. 7, then a nationwide film tour will ensue at motorcycle dealerships and riding clubs/groups across the country. Inna Thorn, BDR Executive Director whom we met last year at the debut of the Southeastern route and film, has stated, “Partnering with Triumph Motorcycles America on the Montana BDR has been a natural fit. The MTBDR is one of the most scenic and anticipated routes in the BDR network, and Triumph’s commitment to adventure motorcycling and public land access aligns seamlessly with our mission.”
