A killer café-styled Triumph Speed Twin 1200 is up for grabs

The annual worldwide Distinguished Gentleman‘s Ride (DGR) celebrates 15 years this May. This yearly charity ride raises awareness and support for men’s prostate cancer research and treatment, as well as men’s mental healthcare. Benefiting the Movember Foundation, this ride is near and to our hearts here at Road Dirt, as several of us have found ourselves dealing with those issues in our own lives.

Being a 3x bladder cancer survivor myself, and having said goodbye to a dear friend some years ago who died of prostate cancer, I’ve personally supported and participated in this ride numerous times over the years. To date, the annual benefit ride has raised over 60.5 million in USD since its inception, has seen half a million riders participate, and has grown to 110 countries and 1070 cities worldwide with participating riders. I don’t know of another global motorcycle event with that kind of reach.

Triumph Motorcycles has been a leading supporter of the ride nearly from the beginning, and this year has offered a beautiful custom cafê racer-styled bike to be awarded to one of the participating riders. The DGR 2026 themed Speed Twin 1200 a stunner, and we just had to share a shot or two here. Of note is the custom crafted seat, made of genuine Harris Tweed fabric from the Outer Hebrides, northern Scotland. The motorbike is also adorned with a “15 Years of Dapper” anniversary paint and graphics, and a certificate of authenticity. This would definitely qualify for listing among our “Beautiful Bikes” category.

Dubbed the “Gentlefolk Competition Prize”, the custom Speed Twin 1200 is awarded through a random drawing, giving all eligible participants in the ride an equal opportunity to win the one-off Café Racer.

Here’s how to get in the running for this unique bike-

  1. Register at gentlemansride.com
  2. Complete the rider profile
  3. Make a personal donation
  4. Make a donation to a random “gentlefolk” to earn the “Pay It Forward” badge
  5. Raise at least $250 USD for the cause

Once all the above badges are unlocked, the rider is automatically entered into the random drawing. This means that any registered rider, anywhere in the world, has the chance to take home this unique DGR custom motorcycle. Triumph is also awarding three other motorcycles from their Modern Classic lineup to the top three fundraisers worldwide.

Of the many things that make this event so unique, from the rides in every time zone around the world, to the men’s health emphasis, this ride also has its own unique style and flair. Riders all dress “Dapper”, as in Old English attire and/or “Mad Men” suit & tie. Motorcycles must be true old school, or modern classics that hearken back to the old school bikes of yesteryear (as in 1980s-earlier). Its a grand time riding among such historic/unique machines and unique riders.
