Top Five Fave Bikes of 2025

Looking back over the past 12 months, we decided to compile a short list of our favorite bikes this year. Everything we rode we absolutely enjoyed, but here are a few that we particularly had a blast with. Leave us a comment below on any of these you got to ride or purchase, or any others you may have enjoyed.

Analog- 1993 Honda VFR 750

In a digital world driven by touchscreens, scrolling menus and artificial intelligence there lives a Unicorn, a 1993 VFR 750. In this electric world measured by binary strings of 1s and 0s she is a deliciously analog endangered species driven by feel, a deft but heavy touch, proper feel at the levers. Her cockpit is full of spinning number odometers and sweeping white needles on black numbered faceplates that don’t disappear when the bike turns off. When I feel saturated by screen time and need to unplug and return to the heart of motorcycling, the core of who I am, I ride The Unicorn.

Gear to Go: Harley Jacket and Gloves

On my recent expedition to Tombstone, AZ for Helldorado Days, Harley outfitted me with two of their best sellers, the Triple Vent Passing Link II Leather Coat and Circuit II Weatherproof Leather Gauntlet Gloves. For an enthusiast, your leather is much more than just a protective second skin, it’s a lifestyle statement. It has to look good, feel good and fit your personal fashion and function needs.

Dennis Gage On Two Wheels

Seeing television’s most famous car guy sitting on a BMW R60 in period gear must seem a little confusing to some of our readers. But after years of bringing the best of the classic four-wheeled world to the small screen, it is time to let the secret out: Dennis Gage is a motorcycle nut with a small collection of interesting European motorcycles: A collection that has just seen the addition of a Moto Guzzi Breva that he purchased on eBay from my hometown of Charlotte, NC.

Harley’s 2025 Street Glide Ultra

You may scoff and say I’m just getting soft, but I prefer to believe riding smarter is better than riding harder, at least in the long haul. Making slightly fewer dumb decisions is a nice perk of getting older. Comfortable bikes relieve road fatigue and extra storage space makes packing and unpacking quicker, easier and less tiring. Sit the roomy hard bags and big tour pak on a counterbalanced and rubber-mounted 117 cubic inch (1923 cc) power plant, load it with tech I can’t figure and you have Harley-Davidson’s luxury liner, the 2025 Street Glide Ultra.

A Day at Blackhawk with the Yamaha R9

As I started my first flying lap, braking into T1 I immediately felt at home, the braking power was strong and predictable and I had a good feel with the front tire as I dove into the turn. The handling was light and flickable just as I remembered from my first ride. Having the power band smoothed out allowed me to keep up my corner speed and get the power down as I exited each corner. After another lap I had clicked off an 1:18 without really pushing, so I knew I had a lot left in the tank. Beginning my next couple of laps I started to catch traffic so slowed up a little and decided to dive into the pit lane to try and get some clear track.

Rob’s Monthly Musings- Year End Reflections

It has been quite the holiday season already here in the United States. Although everyone celebrated Thanksgiving, it seems like Christmas decoration, sales, and the general spirit of the season began right after Halloween. So much of it is commerce-driven, of course, but I still love this season, when you peel back all of the extraneous layers

Eat Like An Earp In Tombstone

Tombstone has about a dozen primary eateries and all are busy during Helldorado Days, so make reservations if they accept reservations, or plan to dine early or late to avoid peak hours. Otherwise, since there isn’t a supermarket in town, your best bet may be the Circle K for snacks or gas station sushi. Instead, we sampled two toothsome places in town, and one in nearby Bisbee.
